Capturing Memories: A Senior Portrait Session in Colonial Williamsburg

As the leaves turn to vibrant shades of red, orange, and gold, Colonial Williamsburg transforms into a picturesque backdrop for senior portraits. This historic area, with its charming colonial architecture and cobblestone streets, provides an enchanting setting that perfectly complements the milestones of high school graduation.

The perfect outfits!

Rylee’s first outfit for her senior session was such a match for this location! I loved her cute top paired with her denim skirt and complementary heels. She made subtle changes to her look throughout her session, especially by rotating out her jewelry. I love these earrings she started with and how they peek out perfectly around her hair. If you’re unsure what to wear to your session, you can never go wrong with neutral colors! Selecting a top of a neutral color such as this one is great because there are no color casts from the shirt bouncing up onto her skin. It also allows us to focus on her stunning face!

Williamsburg is Truly a Picture-Perfect Setting for Senior Photos

Colonial Williamsburg is known for its rich history and picturesque landscapes, but in the fall, it transforms into a vibrant canvas of color. As we strolled through the historic streets, the sunlight filtered through the trees, creating that perfect golden glow that every photographer dreams of. This is truly one of my top favorite locations for portraits! There are sooo many possibilities for backdrops and looks.

Bringing in some color!

For Rylee’s second outfit she chose this stunning dress! I LOVE this color! It is a perfect match for this fall and instantly reminded me of one of the Pantone fall colors of the year! (Creatives love seeing these updates lol)
She truly rocked this gorgeous dress. This bold red-burgundy shade popped beautifully against the golden leaves and charming streets of Colonial Williamsburg. It not only captured the essence of fall but also added a trendy flair to her portraits. The dress was a fantastic choice, showcasing her style and confidence, and we ended up with some truly stunning shots that perfectly captured the vibe of the day!

Throughout the session, we laughed and enjoyed the moment, capturing candid expressions and playful poses. Whether she was twirling in her dress among the falling leaves or striking a pose against a weathered brick wall, every shot was filled with genuine joy. One of my goals as your senior photographer is to help you feel comfortable and confident! I like to give prompts which allow for movement, natural smiles, and more of a candid look for photos that feel like you!

Next it was time for the garden!

The photos we took in the colonial garden were absolutely stunning. The combination of the pop of color in her dress and the vibrant blooms created some truly picture-perfect moments. The rich reds and yellows of the garden made her stand out even more, creating such a striking visual contrast.

I loved how the garden’s natural beauty framed Rylee in a way that felt both fresh and timeless. She is so graceful in this dress! The light streaming through the leaves added an enchanting glow, highlighting her features and giving the images a warm, glow. It was hard to pick my favorite photos!

Okay this bench and the light!!!

One of my favorite spots of the session…

I saw this beautiful wildflower patch as I was driving to park before Rylee’s session. It caught my eye!! I was so excited to see these blooms and knew we had to incorporate this spot into her session!

So perfect!

Next Rylee switched into a more casual look and we took some photos in the more collegiate looking areas! It was a great fit!

We ended the session with her cheer uniform!! I loved how she chose to incorporate her poms and letterman’s jacket as well
